Part of our Recognition of the value of a rural lifestyle – and a Kiwi country school tradition!
Held each year in October (just before Labour Weekend).
By raising calves, lambs or goat kids (must be born after 1 July), our participating students learn valuable lessons in:
- responsibility
- animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and basic health care
- perseverance, consistency and dedication
- event participation
We also have a Pet section for children who would like to participate, but are not able to raise a calf or lamb at home e.g. rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, chicken etc (no dogs/puppies permitted).
Indoor Exhibits
A mixture of exhibits completed at home and at school give children an opportunity to showcase their creativity and artistic talents.
